School Choice and SNSP

  School Choice and SNSP
Wisconsin Parental Choice Program &
Special Needs Scholarship Program

During the 2020-2021 school year, St. John’s will once again participate in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) and the Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP).

This website will be updated with the most current information as it is released by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for both programs.

As part of the application process, students new to the Choice Program must provide proof of income and residency documentation. Continuing Choice students only need to provide residency documentation. New and continuing SNSP students need to provide residency documentation and cooperate with the school and public school district to provide documentation of the special needs of the student.

Open enrollment for WPCP is February 3-April 16. Open enrollment for SNSP begins in July 2020. All required supporting documentation must be received by St. John’s during the open enrollment periods.

St. John’s was accepted as a WPCP and SNSPS school beginning in the 2019-2020 school year. We are excited to offer the opportunity for families who qualify to receive a voucher from the State of Wisconsin to pay for their children's tuition.

How To Apply for WPCP
In order to apply, you will need either your 2019 federal tax return (first two pages of Form 1040; signed and dated) or your Social Security Number. We recommend using the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Process of income verification rather than the Department of Revenue (DOR) method especially if your financial circumstances have changed over the last several years.
After you apply online, you will need to provide proof of residency and proof of income (new students only) documentation to our school office. Proof of residency is typically a utility bill. Proof of income is typically your federal tax return. The WI DPI provides a full list of acceptable documentation.

How To Apply for SNSP
The enrollment period begins in July 2020. Before that time comes, please contact our principal to set up a time to discuss what we can offer your student with special needs. We want to ensure that your child’s needs can be met by our staff and the training they have received.
